I recently had the pleasure of working with the super talented Hannah Gasparutti again for another fashion photography shoot. The shoot took place at Urban Jungle which I was really exited about after hearing nothing but great things about it. We set up base in the Cafe Jungle, which is just as unique as it is beautiful. Plants of all shapes and sizes fill the cafe from floor to ceiling and situated within them in various locations are both tables and chairs and comfy sofas covered in cushions and throws for ultimate relaxation. A pond, filled with Koi Carp takes the cafe jungle experience to a whole other level and there is even a wooden bridge that runs over it so you can stop to see the fish a little more close up. My favourite thing about it was all the Cactus plants. I. Love. Cacti. They had so many, from teeny tiny ones indoors to an area full of them outside, some of which were taller than me. If you want a cactus, (and let's face it, who wouldn't) Urban Jungle is the place to go.
We set up in a corner of the cafe and Hannah got started on some test shots while I began the make up. Hannah had sent me a mood board prior to the shoot so I knew the kind of looks she wanted to create for each of the two models.
Hannah did a few shots of both the models indoors to begin with and then we went outside to check out various locations to shoot in. Of course, the cactus area was a must, so Hannah got shots of both girls in there and we then moved deeper into the jungle and found an area full of bamboo trees, which we got set up in for more shots of both the models. I'm really excited to see the images from in there, as we were literally squeezed right into a bunch of bamboo trees.
To finish, the two models posed together in another area. There were so many unique areas within the location so we will definitely go back again for another shoot and explore some more. It would be amazing to go back in each season to take shots as the surroundings change with the naturally changing environment.
The make up for the two models was really different, which was great fun for me. Look one was all about warmth and glow, which, I created using the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow. I warmed the cheeks with powder blush in shade, 'Sweet Mandarin' by Laura Mercier.
I love to create textured brows and Emma had perfects brows for this... I may have spent the most time on them, brushing them over with Charlotte Tilbury, Legendary Brows in 'Super Model' and filling in some areas with Brow Spectrum Palette by Zoeva. For colour on the eyes, I used the 'Day to Night' Eye shadow Palette by Ardere, (if you don't have this, you need it. Buy it now. You will love it and never be without it in your kit again)! I finished the eyes with a set of dramatic false lashes.
For the lips I used a nude brown shade from the Bobbi Brown BBU Pro Lip Palette and finished with MUA Luxe Metallic Liquid lips, in 'Glint'
For the second look I used the Mehron Pro-HD Foundation Contour and added dimension with the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow, (it's my favourite).
For the eyes I used the Kat Von D Shade & Light Eyeshadow Palette with Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise in 'Bette' on the lid. To create the white lashes and brows, I covered a disposable mascara wand with NYX White Liquid Eyeliner and brushed over the top and bottom lashes and along the brows. I lined the water line with NYX Slide On Pencil in 'Pure White'.
The eyes were really dramatic so we kept the lips simple with a nude shade, again, from the Bobbi Brown Lip Palette and finished with a Rimmel Oh my Gloss in 'Clear'
Huge thank you to Urban Jungle for having us. To Hannah for asking me to collaborate again, to Sophie Lovegrove for styling and to George Hadingham and Emma Banister for modelling. I can't wait to see the images and share them with you too.
