Rebecca Perfect is a make up artist from Norfolk specialising in the Instagram glam make up. This trend has reached a phenomenal level of popularity, particularly amongst younger people. It’s a hot topic in the industry at the moment and as a make up artist, although it’s not something I have ever really done, I appreciate the style and the skill that is needed to create it. Because of the rise in popularity for this kind of make up, I think it will be something I may be asked for in the future, particularly for prom and occasion make up. Rebecca however, specialises in and is creating this look regularly in her business and not just ‘for the gram.’ I was excited to learn from her all about the products she recommends the the techniques she uses to create her glam looks. The masterclass took place at Glambox, Norwich. I’d never been here before but it was an amazing salon and the perfect location for a masterclass all about glam! I met up with ‘Ginger Natalie’ (do go and check out her fabulous blog) and we were greeted on arrival at Glambox, with prosecco, cupcakes and a goody bag. Now, It’s no secret that I love a goody bag and this was a great one. It had a notepad and pen to take notes with as Rebecca worked (it also came in handy to write down a shopping list of products she recommended). There was a voucher for money off a one to one training session with Rebecca, a pair of lashes by Mollie, a Peaches and cream lip gloss, a loose glitter and some gorgeous pigments. The class started off with Rebecca carving out the brow. She used the P.Louise base for this and explained what she was doing as she was doing it. Rebecca took a lot of time to carve out and fill in the brows as this is such a key element of this type of make up and therefore important to get it right. Once the brow was filled in and the base was laid, Rebecca went on to create a soft smokey eye using products from MAC, llamasque, Too Faced and finished the eyes with lashes from Mollie. For the base Rebecca used a mix of products. She creates her own flawless base by prepping the skin with Mac prime and fix and mixing a camouflage make up with a shade of MAC studio fix foundation. She used the same MAC product she used on the eye, to add shade in the desired areas and highlighted with the amazing ‘shine bright’ highlighter from Doll Beauty, (which went straight on my shopping list along with the Illamasque white blush and P.Louise base and pallete)! On the lips she used a MAC lip liner in Spice and filled in with a gloss from Peaches and Cream, in shade ‘Fudge’, which we also received in our goody bags. The finished look (pictured below) was absolutely flawless. The coverage was full and the contour and highlight added depth and light so it didn’t look flat. I had a great time at the masterclass and I’m feeling inspired to create my own version of the soft glam that Rebecca taught us, using the products from the goody bag and from the shopping list I created (thanks Rebecca)! I would highly recommend Rebecca’s masterclass to anyone that loves this type of look or wants to know more about it. If you are a make up artist yourself or you just love make up and and creating looks on yourself and your friends, then you would really enjoy this Masterclass. If you’d rather not attend a class then Rebecca offers one to one training aswell.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Rebecca for hosting such a fab night and also to Rebecca’s mum for the delicious cupcakes (make up and cupcakes, win and win)!
